Normally in this space I try to give you ideas and techniques to have a positive lifestyle. Not just positive thinking but actions you can implement to assist in achieving that lifestyle. This time around I want to also add a bit of technology that could help you create a more positive environment. But no matter how positive our lifestyle there is always one event that will or can have a great impact on our life.
That event is the loss of a loved one or close friend. It doesn’t matter if the death was sudden or expected it still hurts. And sometimes the hurt is made worse by the fact that there is sometimes distance between us and the person we lost. Not emotional distance, I mean actual distance like they live in another city, state or country.
Many of us have a situation like this where a person we love is far away and it is not easy for us to see each other.
We had that situation until today, a family member that lived in another state passed away and it had been over a year since the last time we visited them.
With that lose it started me thinking about all the other family that are far away that we can seldom see. Like my nephew’s new baby I have never seen and my aunt that I haven’t seen in years.
Their passing got me thinking about a technology I currently use and want to share so maybe a few more people will be able to see those loved ones far away. The technology that I use is a video phone that connects to the internet and allows you to talk and see the person if they are using a video phone also.
It works like a regular phone but has a high definition screen and built in camera and requires no special computer skills like using a computer and web cam. If you can use a phone you can use a video phone. You simply connect it to the internet like you do your computer, make a call and get that important face time with your distant loved ones.
So if there is a lot of distance between you and your family or friends do whatever you can to make the connection and get that face to face time with each other. The connection you get from actually seeing each other is so far greater than an email or regular phone call.
