5 steps to beat shyness……….0

So you are shy … but then, who isn’t?

In fact, everyone is shy. It is just that some people are good in masking what they are feeling and not let others know that they are shy. However, too much shyness can be detrimental to your social life.

Here are a few steps to help you overcome your shyness. These steps will allow you to come out of your shell at your own pace and at your own will. Overcoming shyness should not be forced upon you by anybody.

1. Know thyself
The best perspective is from the inside out when compared to looking from the outside in. Remember, you know yourself best.

As much as possible, be honest with yourself and find out the reason for your shyness. For instance, are you particularly scared about how people will react to something you say or do? Are you anxious with your physical appearance?

Take note that there are reasons why you react the way you do on specific situations. Find out the reasons. Maybe these can help you know yourself better and eventually help you change for the better.

2. Act your way out
Act like you are confident and you will become confident. Of course, this is easier said than done. Or is it?

In the privacy of your room, you could practice behaving like you are confident. Walk around with your chin up and chest out.

Add a subtle swagger while you walk. Speak in a firm manner. Though this could feel ridiculous at first, this is one baby step to overcoming shyness.

3. Maintain eye contact
As much as possible, practice eye contact with people. Look at them and smile at them. This can open a world of possibilities. However, if you find this difficult, focus your gaze on the point in between the person’s eyes, particularly near his or her forehead.

You could also break the ice by striking up a casual conversation about the weather or any recent events in the news.

4. Be not afraid
There is really nothing to be scared of. Manage your fear of rejection.

One good way to do this is to imagine the worst social outcome in a given situation. After that imagined scenario, it is easier to think that nothing could be worst than that.

Try not to dwell on rejection. It happens to anyone. Move on and learn from it, it is that easy.

5. Do not take yourself seriously
This lightens the load from self-imposed pressure, like you have to look good, act, or be a certain way.

Try not to be too critical of yourself. So you may not have the right dress on or your shoes are a tad too big, who cares? Don’t be bothered by the small stuff. Life means more than your dress or shoe sizes.

Do not be too hard on yourself. Frustration happens, feel it, and then let it go. Think positive and positive things will come.

All in all, one of the best ways to overcome shyness is to have fun and don’t ever forget that!

6 simple rules of life……2

Life is simple and peaceful if you incorporate the following six rules into your daily routine.

1. Practice some quite time everyday
Quietness of mind is the secret ingredient to a happy and successful life. Make it a regular habit to enjoy some quiet time every day. To start with set aside just 10 minutes at the start of the day. Just sit in a quiet place without paying any attention to your passing thoughts. You should pay attention only to your breathing and notice your chest and abdomen while breathing. This is not yoga, meditation, etc. This is simply a quiet time. Just ten minutes a day in the morning or night before bedtime is ideal for you to enjoy the peace within. If you make this a regular habit you would witness a better quality of life real soon.

2. Exercise your body and mind
Daily exercise keeps you away from mental and physical illness. Exercise keeps your body flexible, supple and strong. This leads to a balanced mind. There are plenty of good exercises you could choose from to keep yourself healthy and enjoy a long life. If you have not been exercising, you could start today. Just go for a brisk walk and feel the fresh air filling your lungs.

3. Eat sensibly
This area really poses a challenge for most of us. ‘You are what you eat’ is not just a mere saying. It is a fact of life. What we eat, why we eat, when we eat and how we eat are important factors related to our physical, psychological and spiritual well-being. It would be wise to choose a healthy diet and stick to it. Your goal should not only be to lose weight but also to keep it under control so that your body and mind does not bear the strain of overweight.

4. Choose a fulfilling profession or job
Many people have a habit of switching jobs. They do not seem to know what they are looking for. They are not sure if they are after money, challenge, job satisfaction, etc. It is important that you have clear-cut ideas of what you are looking for in a job. You should love your job in order to do it well and succeed in it. You would find fulfillment in your career only when you love your profession or job.

5.Maintain good relationships
Life is for sharing. Share your love and happiness with your friends and family. Learn to cherish your relationships. Respect everyone around you and develop good communication skills to establish truly valuable relationships. Relationships make your life meaningful.

6. Get enough sleep
Sleep restores energy. Make sure to get 6 to 8 hours of sleep each night. Deep, regular and restful mind is good for body and mind. If you have unhealthy sleeping habits get rid of them and develop good sleeping habits. Enjoy the benefits of good sleep.

When you practice these simple rules you are bound to enjoy a happy, healthy and peaceful life. Life is quite simple, really!

7 steps to stop procrastination…..0

Many people have a problem with procrastination.

It’s so easy to do it later…or tomorrow…or next week.

It’s so much easier to stay in their comfort zone than to create that new product, look for that new job or start that new endever.

In fact, even though I’ve accomplished quite a bit online, I still find myself facing the procrastination monster from time to time.

Here are 7 quick tips to help you overcome procrastination.

1. Make Action Notes

Create action notes when you’re studying any type of information product, listening to a teleconference, or attending a seminar.

It’s easy to simply make notes on all the great information you hear, but that won’t do you any good. The only part of the information that does you good is the part you USE.

So create a list of action points. I do this when reading an ebook or any other form of information. If I write down just one action point, the information has been worthwhile. If I have an empty page when finished, it wasn’t worth my time or money.

What you have to be careful about is to make sure you don’t write dozens and dozens of “action points.” Those are notes. You’re going to be hard pressed to really pull out more than 3 action points at any time.

2. Get Rid of Fear

Part of the reason we procrastinate is because we’re afraid of what’s going to happen when we step out.

Some of us are afraid of failure…while others are actually afraid of success (their mind is blocking them).

For me, I’ve simply changed my attitude about “failure.” If a project doesn’t work, it isn’t a failure. It’s a test. Well I tested that and it didn’t work. Now I’ll test something else.

That way you’re not personalizing the “failure” to yourself. All marketing is simply a test that we keep learning and growing from.

Growing experiences aren’t always fun, but they happen.

3. Turn Off Distractions

You know you have to write that article, produce that video, or create that website. It’s so much easier though to live in a state of distraction where you’re constantly checking your email, answering the phone, or visiting your favorite forum.

Turn off all those distractions. Focus on the task at hand. When it’s time to write, sit down and write. Don’t edit. That comes later. Simply start typing whether it’s good or crap. It doesn’t matter. It’s taking the action.

4. Daily Plan

At the end of each day I spend about 3 to 5 minutes writing a quick schedule for tomorrow. When I slack on this, I end up wasting at least an hour trying to figure out what to do.

Don’t ask me why that is. I don’t know. Five minutes to write a schedule for tomorrow…an hour of wasted time if I try it in the morning.

What’s the primary goal tomorrow? How will I grow my business tomorrow? What’s a rough schedule for each hour tomorrow?

Real simple…and written on normal paper in a desktop calendar. I don’t even use any software for this basic planning.

5. Do the Most Profitable Activities First

What is the most profitable activity in your business? Do it first. It might be creating that new product, writing sales copy, or contacting potential partners for your upcoming project.

One activity that should come in every day is a marketing activity designed to generate new business (even when you’re busy). It could be as small as adding five new keyword phrases to your Adwords account, running one ezine ad, or submitting your post to social sites.

Which activity you take isn’t what I’m focusing on here. All I’m looking at is making sure you’re doing something to generate new business everyday.

6. Reward Yourself

Set milestones and reward yourself. Maybe your goal today is to write 10 articles. Your reward could be that you’re done for the day even if it only takes you 2 and a half hours.

Maybe it’s that item you wanted to buy if you finish the project by Wednesday. Maybe you get a 4 day weekend if you get done on Thursday.

Reward yourself with something when you reach your daily and weekly goals…even if it’s just a small item.

7. Accountability

Make yourself accountable to someone for what you want to accomplish. This could be a coach you work with or it could simply be a business friend. They tell you their weekly goals and you tell them yours.

Now you know you’re going to asked about how you did.

Have you ever tried working out alone compared to a workout partner? You’ll find yourself exercising even when you might have slipped because you can’t let your buddy down. Having someone who is relying on you in business can produce the same results.

For example, if you want to really make sure your project is done on time, make a commitment to others. Let those affiliates know when the new product is releasing. Tell your customers what is coming.

In other words, assign your own public accountability. Good luck
