oil for freedom……….

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

It is said that Iraq has the second largest proven oil reserves on the planet. And with new exploration it is estimated that they will have proven reserves of 200+ billion barrels of high grade crude. The amount of natural gas reserves is in the trillions of cubic feet…………so they basically have alot of oil related resources to sell.

Now knowing that we did do them a favor by getting rid of that Saddam guy for them. Agree or not it is done, we are there and need to finish. But will gas around 4 bucks a gallon here you think it would be too much to ask that the Iraqi government give us a few million barrels of oil for FREE……just to help offset all the billions we have spent to let them bad mouth us about being there.

Even if they just sold the oil to us for say….25 bucks a barrel. That alone might lower the price of gas to maybe a buck twenty five a gallon. So why not pay back the American people for the money spent on the Iraq war?

The news recently talked about a new oil discovery here in the U.S. in Utah I believe and some neighboring states.
They think it is somewhere in the 80 billion barrels……

You think we will drill for that oil and use it to relieve our reliance on OPEC….I bet we don’t. Probably because some environmentalist wacko will find a purple backed, yellow spotted owl fairy shrimp and it will stop all exploration because there are only two in the world. And they must be protected no matter how it ruins our economy.

So back to Iraq….Do you think Iraq should give the U.S. a huge break on oil to repay us for what we did for them?

I do……

get a life spammer……

So I believe in making things easy because there is already enough things that are difficult….you know like life, getting the government to do anything, making it in Hollywood….that kind of thing.

So I had this blog setup so people didn’t have to register and login to comment. I wanted it easy….

But lately I get these spam comments many times a day. I not even sure what good they are but they are just lots of links with meaningless text. I don’t even get the point unless it is to just try to get more links to all theses sites to gain search engine rankings.

But now I have to change the settings so people have to register and login to comment. It’s not that big of a deal because this isn’t some highly read blog that has thousands of commenters. But it does irritate me because it forces me to change the way I want things to be…..at least with this site.

So do these spammers not have lives or what??? Is the just a lot of fat guys sitting in their parents basement in their underwear drinking coke and eating snickers bars spamming blog sites???? I don’t get the point???

It’s like spray painting graffiti on the inside of your closet….I’m not going to let the spammers post their crap anyway…so what’s the point?

So I changed the settings so that anyone posting has to be registered and logged on. It will stop the spammers but it makes our lives just a bit less easy…..and that is just wrong.

are you representing me?…..

It’s that time of the year again when most of us do our tax returns. Some do it themselves and some like my wife and I have it done because being incorporated it is just to complicated for us to consider doing.

When the colonists came to the new world, one of the reasons they left England was to get away from “taxation without representation” of the monarchy. Well now we have “taxation with representation” and we pay more taxes every year. There is an organization that tracks taxes and estimates each year when we have worked enough to pay that years taxes. I think last year we all had to work almost five months to just pay the taxes for the year.

I know Bush cut taxes and it helped everyone (that paid taxes) by reducing the burden. It wasn’t just the rich like some want you to believe. It actually rasied the income required to pay taxes so alot of people fell off the tax rolls.

But the fact still remains that we pay alot of taxes. Not just income and sales but other taxes that are now called fees so we don’t think its a tax. We have building permit fees, water and sewer connections fees, parking fees, auto registration fees….and hundreds of others. But whether you call it a tax or a fee it has still been put in place by our “representation” in our respective states or in Washington.

I guess this is what many people want because we continue to send the same “representation” back to figure out more ways to get in our pockets. You would think we would not continue doing the same thing and expecting something different…..

I think we are reaching the tipping point as our country slides towards socialism similar to Europe. Where there are many more people getting on the dole and our representatives desire to give everything to everyone. This will cause more people to vote for the person that promiises the most freebies…..Just look at the number of people here illegally getting free stuff at the taxpayers expense.

Even the current presidential candidates on the left want universal healthcare….this means tax us to pay for it. And there are millions of people just waiting for that to happen so someone else can pay the bill…..that means you and me if we actually pay taxes.

As I mentioned above the colonists came here to escape “taxation without representation” because they were mad enough to create a new country.

I don’t know which is worse…..being taxed to death without representation or being taxed to death with representation…..

backdoor gun control…..

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

At the same time the US Supreme Court is considering the meaning of the 2nd amendment as to whether it gives the right to bear arms…(which I believe it does). The socialists in the California Assembly are considering legislation to, now get this….to restrict the purchase of ammunition.

Assembly Bill 2062 would require that law-abiding gun owners obtain a permit to buy handgun ammunition and would impose severe restrictions on the private transfers of handgun ammunition. Applicants for a “permit-to-purchase” would be required to submit to a background check, pay a $35 fee, and wait as long as 30 days to receive the permit.

So the socialists have figured out that if we can’t take your guns we will do the next best thing and take or severly limit your bullets. What a bunch of crap!! I don’t get the 30 days to possibly get a permit. You only have to wait 10 to buy a gun but make have to wait 30 to buy the ammo???

Under AB2062, it would be unlawful to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require vendors to keep a record of the transaction including the ammunition buyer’s name, driver’s license, the quantity, caliber and type of ammunition purchased, and right thumbprint, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice or the number of their handgun ammunition purchase permit.

All ammunition sales in the State of California would be subject to a $3 per transaction tax. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited. Any violator of AB2062 would be subject to civil fines.

So not only do the socialists want to make it almost impossible to have bullets to….I don’t know…protect your family from an intruder maybe….

But they also want to tax you for the privledge of giving some ammo to your spouse….sorry it is not a tax it is a fee I forgot.

So let’s say you actually have bullets for your hand gun and you decide to go to the shooting range or to an outdoor area to do some taget shooting. If you give your spouse, kid or a friend more than 50 bullets you can be fined. So now what…we have the bullet police making sure you don’t give someone 51 bullets…..

Hey you anti-gun socialists in the legislature……how about fixing things that are broke! Oh I forgot again…I live in the Peoples Socialist Republic of California where it’s all about limiting our rights not supporting them.

Enough of this ranting I’m going online and order a couple thousand rounds of 7.62 x 39mm for my Yugoslavian SKS assault rifle while I still can…………

depression bogeyman at the economic door….

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

According to the lamestream media we are almost in a depression just like the “great” depression in the 30’s. On a side note why is it called the “great depression” when it was anything but great……

Anyway the media has been pounding the recession scare into us for months. Even though economics idicators like unemployment numbers are low and the trade deficit while not great isn’t horrible either.

Sure there are some sectors that are having trouble. If you are in the financial industry specifically related to housing or mortgages banking you might be thinking it’s a depression. If you are a real estate agent and have not sold a home in months you could be concerned. The housing meltdown is just the other side of the over inflated, over heated housing price rise party we experienced in the last years. All those special loans that got people into homes they couldn’t afford in a real market and are now upside down and being foreclosed is the hangover from the party. But the housing market will correct and turn around to a normal market again because people still need a place to live. But this isn’t a depression….

The trucking industry is hurting because of high diesel prices that is killing long and short haul truckers. The high price of fuel is cutting into the profits of business and into the budgets of everyone. The airlines are also having problems with the price rise in aviation fuel. As fuel prices rise those costs are generally passed on to the consumer in high ticket prices or higher shipping costs meaning higher consumer prices in general. This sounds like inflation, but not a depression.

I have heard the saying “if your neighbor loses their job it’s a recession, if you lose your job it’s a depression” During the great depression there were food lines and people selling apples on street corners. Kids selling pencils to get a penny. I don’t see any of that happening…..What I do see is people sitting a StarBucks drinking a 5 dollar cup of coffee.

I see resturants with waiting lines to eat, stores with shoppers buying stuff made in China (a whole other story). I looked a the job ads today in the local newspaper….should be called the adpaper, lots of ads but little news. Anyway in the job section the wasn’t some giant text saying “SORRY NO JOBS”……….

There was lots of job ads…..if it was a depression wouldn’t there be no work????

I see people at grocery stores filling their carts….if we were in a depression would they be standing outside hoping for a handout?

I don’t know maybe it’s just me…..I don’t see the “bogeyman” that the lamstream media wants to convince us is pounding on the front door. I think it’s an election year and media wants one of the two “socialists” elected so they are trying to scare the crap out of the uniformed.

Are there people that are having some trouble….sure. But there are always people having trouble economically. And for them I’m sure it hurts. But we have bigger problems coming and soon….

The fact that we don’t have any kind of an energy plan to become less reliant of foreign sources. The fact that China almost owns us because our government is selling the farm and China is buying. The Feds is printing money like there is no tomorrow devaluing every dollar we save. The president of Iran wants to get a nuclear bomb as quickly as possible so he can bring on the end of the world…….these are just of the few bigger issues we will face.

So are we in or heading into a depression??? I don’t think so but some of the big issues we are going to have to face in the near future will be pretty depressing…..
