I swear over the last two days I must have been abducted by aliens in a spaceship…no not illegal aliens..space aliens. The reason I say that is that I totally forgot I actually write to this “blog” almost everyday.

I think I had a space age brain wipe which deleted anything I was to remember to do…..like writing!

So I’m sitting here surfing the web watching the history channel about the Mayans and their knowledge of astronomy and that the earth is going to end in 2012. I think it will end alot sooner….like when gas hits 6 bucks a gallon.

But anyway I’m watching this show and the narrator said something and “bam” I remember that crap I haven’t added anything in a couple days. I swear my mind was erased somehow and the memory just came back.

I think it could also have been the tacos at my Mom’s on Sunday. There was a time when we would have tacos at Mom’s every Sunday. For years it was an every weekend thing. And also for years you would find any number of people there having tacos also. Sometimes other family members and many time friends would just show up or had been invited.

It has been many years…maybe 15 or more since the last time it was tacos at Mom’s. So this last Sunday was like having a long lost friend come back into your life after a long absence. It brought back many memories and the special feelings that come with great memories. I think the important point here is that we sometimes let life get in the way of living and we let important traditions slip away.

Tacos at Mom’s was a great tradition for all of us for many years. It was great to remember back to a different time and savor those memories again…..

You are probably looking at that title and thinking “did Steve lose his mind?”….no actually I think there might be a bright side to 5 dollar a gallon gas. For one, I have noticed fewer cars on the road. I think that means people are drivng less or using other forms of transportation or carpooling…..isn’t that what the environmentalists want?

Now it’s nice because when I communting to work the traffic isn’t as bad…I have also noticed that my local grocery stores always seem to have lots of stock. Most likely because people are buying less food because they have to spend an extra 50-100 dollars a week driving to work, picking up the kids, taking Grandma to the doctor…..you those un-necessary trips. Of course rich people don’t care because they are well…rich.
All joking aside……

Those that are struggling with making ends meet are only going to find it harder in the months to come. Our politicians are clueless with no relief in sight based on the 3 stooges we have running for president. We have no energy policy, no plan, no answers.

So what will we do….we will all just pay the 5 or 6 or 7 bucks a gallon and just struggle on. There are two reasons we will do this……One is because we love or cars, trucks and motorcycles. I know I’m guilty I love our
hot rod we drive on cruise nights. The number two reason is because we are Americans.

As Americans we generally do not look to the world for help. We pick ourselves up, brush off the dirt and move on. We take the crap other countries give us because we know who we are. And even if our politicians screw up the whole country and economy we will tough it out until it gets better.

So we could move to Europe where gas is about 6 bucks a gallon now. We could go to Venezuela where it is about 15 cents a gallon. I choose to stay here…..

So what do we do folks…….we “man up” and get use to it. Because it isn’t going to get any better anytime soon.

I was talking a pretty successful guy I know the other day. His income is well into the 300k a year range and gets bonuses on top of that…..so needless to say he is doing ok. He was ranting about a bunch of what I thought were really minor annoyances….but the biggie was the dealer didn’t finish some work on his BMW the day they said they would.

From what he said it wasn’t that they were late, it was just something needed to be fixed and they didn’t have the part. OK….so you are delayed in getting your car back…..it’s not like you were dying in the emergency room and they ignored you.

Do you do that too??? Complain about the most minor things when you really have alot to be thankful for? Do you complain about the soon to be 5 dollars a gallon gas but forget that you actually have a car and can drive?

We all have things to complain about but do we really need to complain about them all?

I heard a comdeian once tell this story…

There was this guy that when he was growing up had the worst skin any kid could have. Horrible pimples that he could not get to go away. So he would always hide his face or never look at anyone afraid they would say something about his condition.

One day he was walking down the street and saw a guy coming towards him. The guy was in a wheel chair, he had no arms or legs and was being pushed by another guy. So as he saw the wheel chair guy he thought…”gee I just have bad skin and that poor guy has nor arms or legs. What am I complaining about”

As the two approached the bad skin guy started to raise his head because his like was so bad compared to the wheel chair guy. So as the two passed the guy in the wheel chair look up at the guy pushing him and said

“JEEZ did you see that guy’s face???”

It is just an illustration that everything is relative…our day might have been crummy but there are alot of people out there with real problems. So next time you start to complain take a good look at what you are complaining about.

At least today you woke-up breathing……

I have been watching the feeding frenzy of the media over the polygamists in Texas. It has all been about sex and sex abuse and sex tables and sex with young girls and sex and sex and yes even sex. Most of the stations have been drooling over the as yet confirmed accusations of sexual abuse by one 16 year old girl.

A girl by the way that noone knows or seems to have ever heard of. So this unsubstanciated accusation authorizes the CPS and Texas Rangers to go in at steal over 300 kids from their families??

Not in my book…..You see I thought in America we were innocent until proven guilty. I guess that only applies to murders and illegal aliens, but that is a different post.

So I guess when it comes to child abuse all it takes is someone to drop a dime and BAM you are in jail and your life is up side down. But let’s for a minute forget all the allegations and pretend for a minute we are in America and not the USSR.

What is so wrong with polygamy? If a man wants to marry a number of women or a women wants to marry a couple differnt guys at the same time….so what? What is the problem?

Aren’t we the all inclusive diverse America??? You know the country the liberals want everything to be ok? At least as long as it is the gay agenda….If gays can advocate we buy into their alternate lifestyle why not other lifestyles??? Although I do draw the line at the abuse of children….I believe child abusers should be taken out back and shot….end of child abuser.

So if two guys want to get married why not two women and one guy….???? Why not one guy and many women? Why is one lifestyle more or less acceptable as any other??

I’m not advocating either of these lifestyles….I happen to believe a marriage is one man and one woman. It just seems this is like the drug issue…..Why is alcohol (legal drug) ok but other drugs (weed) not???

Anyway…think about it. As they use to say in an old tv commercial…”Where’s the beef?”

When I was growing up and in elemmentary school we played tag, dodgeball, baseball and many other team sports.
The difference is now in little league type baseball everyone get a trophy…..not for winning but for participating.

That’s like getting CEO pay just because you worked at a company…..it doesn’t matter you were a night janitor. You attended work therefore you get big pay…….It’s like that in little league. Everyone gets a trophy for participating. We do this so we don’t hurt anyone’s self-esteem…..

When I was a kid the team that won gets the trophy….did this hurt our self esteem…..NO. It made us want to be better next year so we could win the trophy. A news report the other day talked about a school district in the mid-west that is banning tag….TAG can you believe that?

They say it promotes agressiveness in children and they want to avoid any agression. We want all the little comrades pliable so we can indoctrinate them into good little socialists and they won’t be agressive an rebel.

Between the radical feminists and socialists in the school districts we are creating a generation of defective useless kids. They will not know how to read, do simple math or think on their own. Plus they will be docile little lambs that can be pushed around and do what the politicians want.

This country better wakeup soon or one day it will wakeup and be barely breathing as a country. It may already be too late to save.
