Step away from the tv…………

Friday, February 8th, 2008

You know I have had some many people ask me how I find the time to get stuff done. They spend 8-10 hours a day working at a job just like I do. They commute just like I do. But I have time to workout, write posts to this blog, and rework some new books I’m putting together. I always ask them “did you see xxxxx tv show last night?” They say yes!, did you? wasne’t it great?

I then say “nope” did not see it……I always get a funny look like “why did you ask if you didn’t see it?” Thats when I say thats how I get stuff done. I don’t sit in front of the the tv for 4-5 hours a night watching what are mostly stupid shows. Sometimes I will watch while working on my laptop….sort of my style of multi-tasking. How bout that buzz word?

So if you want to change something…..whether it is losing weight, reading more books, working on the latest “get rich quick scheme” or whatever. The quickest way to to step away from the tv and put that time into some that will benefit you or your family. Because sitting there watching a stupid sitcom or game show ain’t gonna do nuthin for ya except waste time.

If you are going to waste something, time is not the thing to waste. We only get so much and it is not replacable.

So use the time wisely and do something constructive for a change…..

Take action on change….

“A real decision is measured by the fact that you’ve taken a new
action. If there’s no action, you haven’t truly decided.”

— Anthony Robbins
If you say you are going to try to change you have to actually do it. Because like Anthony’s quote you have to take action to actually change.

“If you change the belief first, changing the action is easier.”

— Peter McWilliams
Once you begin to believe in the change you want it is much easier to makr the change a part of your life.

“He who believes is strong; he who doubts is weak. Strong
convictions precede great actions.”

— J. F. Clarke
Once your belief in change is strong, your change will be strong

Back to the future

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

You know I thought I wanted to change the format of my blog to my ranting about politics. But as much as there is stuff to rant about I just do not enjoy it as much as writing about improving your life. So I’m am in a way going back to the future. That is going forward by changing back to the original theme.

So the first order here is to get back to improvement. And for most people right after the first of the year is the resolutions you make for this new year. Well now that you made those you need to follow through. If it was getting in shape, stop smoking, stop drinking or whatever. If it was a good thing then it is woth following through on.

Don’t be one of the ones I see at the gym…..there for a month then quit. Why because it was hard or they were sore or whatever. That is the problem with Americans today. If something is hard or takes works many just quit or give up. Because a big portion of us are just lazy.

So if you want to start improving start by sticking with your resolutions. Take each day do a little, then the next day a little more. It’s just like the saying “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time”

So start today by taking the one bite worry about tomorrows bite tomorrow.
